World Language Program at Heritage Academy

Heritage Academy is currently offering Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Sign Language with several other languages to be added in the near future. Mastering Mandarin Chinese, as well as Spanish, is one of the best investments a student can make in their future. Chinese is rapidly becoming the most spoken language globally with the second largest economy and over 1.2 billion native speakers globally, it will soon become an integral skill in the global business, entertainment and even political arena. Moreover, researchers have long documented the benefits of learning a language like Mandarin Chinese which activates the brain’s right hemisphere, a completely different utilization than the classic languages tapping the left side of the brain. Spanish is the world’s second most spoken language, and the most spoken language in the Americas. The ability to communicate in more than one language in the ever-changing global landscape will soon become integral to a student’s literacy and success.
